The ophthalmic applications group consists of two post-doctoral associates (Hu, Pan), three Graduate students (Pedersen, Lin, Ford), and one undergraduate student (Jeng). The ophthalmic group collaborates with investigators at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (Dr. William Dupps) and the Doheny Eye Institute (Dr. David Huang).
Research Projects
Doppler OCT
Doppler optical coherence tomography (DOCT) is a functional extension of OCT that utilizes the phase of the interferometric signal to provide depth resolved measurements of velocity. Our primary focus is the imaging of retinal blood vessels.
Multi-incidence Angle OCT
OCT Screening of Donor Corneas
Corneal Biomechanics
We utilize OCT to measure the biomechanical properties of the cornea using advanced cross correlation algorithms. We are attempting to develop methods for early diagnosis and advanced understanding of corneal diseases with a mechanical component, Diseases like Keratoconus and Glaucoma. This work is performed in collaboration with ophthalmologist Dr. William Dupps of the Cole Eye Institute at the Cleveland Clinic.
